For 2023-2024, JRI is taking a stronger and more active role in advocating justice reforms that strengthen the responsiveness and accountability of our judicial institutions. The following are some of the key projects slated for this year:
SDG 16's goals of providing "access to justice for all" and building "effective, accountable and inclusive institutions" dovetails with JRI's mission to advocate for reforms in the administration of justice, and promote the rule of law and economic rights.
JRI recognizes that access to justice for all Filipinos requires a whole-of-nation approach and is thus ready to work with the Supreme Court and Department of Justice to champion justice and judicial reforms that, in turn, will address concerns: on the independence and effectiveness of the judiciary, perceived corruption in the justice system and, therefore, access to and delays in the delivery of justice.
Addressing these concerns will inspire greater public confidence in the justice system and contribute towards sustainable development by fostering a positive economic climate for investors, businesses and other societal stakeholders.
