Chairman

Alex, both a Certified Public Accountant and lawyer, is the Chairman Emeritus of PwC Philippines and served as Chairman and Senior Partner for eight years. He was the firm’s Environment, Sustainability and Governance (ESG) practice leader and was the co-leader of the firm’s Mergers & Acquisition practice. 

He is the founding partner of the law firm Cabrera & Company, a member firm of the PwC network.

Alex is a member of the Higher Education & Teacher Education Development Committee of the Second Congressional Commission on Education (EDCOM2), a joint educational body tasked to solve the education crisis. He is also Board Adviser of the Philippine Business for Education, a non-profit organization advocating for education reforms.

Alex is the Chairman of Integrity Initiative, Inc., a private sector led movement to fight against graft and corruption. Alex is the Vice Chair of ARISE-Philippines, an NGO focused on disaster risk management. He is a member of the Finance Board of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Manila.

He is the President of Isla Lipana & Co. Foundation, an organization that focused on social initiatives for schools, underprivileged students and indigenous communities.

Alex was one of the recipients of the Accountancy Centenary Award of Excellence given by the Professional Regulator Board of Accountancy early last year. He was awarded the prestigious Honorary Life Member by the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountant (PICPA) in 2020. He had been named CEO of the Year at the Asia Leaders Awards 2019. PICPA previously granted him the Outstanding CPA in Public Practice Award in 2015 and the Young Achiever in Public Practice Award in 1998. 

His Sunday column in the Philippine Star called “As Easy as ABC” which Alex wrote from 2013 to 2022, was a three-time finalist for the Catholic Mass Media awards.

Vice Chairperson  

Benedicta “Dick” Du-Baladad is a multi-awarded accountant-lawyer and the Founding Partner, Chair, and CEO of Du-Baladad and Associates. She is a prominent leader whose expertise is evident throughout her 30 years in the practice; with her repertoire spanning from being a former official of the country’s tax authority to head of the tax department of a leading auditing firm.

Dick is also a recognized business leader with various directorship positions in various organizations and Foreign Chambers. Her expertise makes her a valuable and much-sought-after resource speaker often invited to seminars and fora organized by prestigious associations such as the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Management Association of the Philippines, and the Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines, among others. She is also currently a professor of Taxation at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) and the University of the Philippines (UP).

Her clients and stakeholders benefit greatly from her knowledge and proficiency in high-end tax advisory, tax disputes and refund claims, transfer pricing, and advocacy. Her sector expertise includes banking and financial institutions where she has authored 3 books on the taxation of banks, insurance, and other financial intermediaries.

She was named National Leader for Southeast Asia-Corporate Tax in the 2022 edition of Who's Who Legal (WWL) Thought Leaders and recognized as the Tax Dispute Resolution Lawyer by Women in Business Law (2021). She is consistently ranked by Asia Business Law Journal as one of the Philippines’ top 100 lawyers and as the only Elite Tax Practitioner in the Philippines by Asia Profiles. She is a recipient of the CPA Centenary Award of Excellence from the Board of Accountancy and has been awarded as a Distinguished Alumna of the University of Santo Tomas. And just recently, she was named one of the Top 15 Female Lawyers in Asia 2024 by Asian Legal Business.

Dick’s community involvement is done through the BDB Law Foundation which she founded in 2014 to help address the gaps in humanitarian, cultural, and socio-civic developments by focusing on projects for improving the quality of education, sustained livelihood, clean environment and better health. The Foundation, in coordination with DECS, has already built several school buildings under its build-a-school program, located in remote places in the country.

President    

Atty. Pedro H. Maniego, Jr. is a Lifetime Fellow, Chairman (2024), and Trustee (2015–2024) of the Institute of Corporate Directors, where he currently chairs the Thought Leadership Committee and previously led the Fellows, Strategic Execution Pathway, and Golf Committees. He is Senior Policy Advisor of the Institute for Climate and Sustainable Cities, Chairman Emeritus of the Energy Lawyers Association of the Philippines, Trustee of the Justice Reform Initiative, and Lead Independent Director of Raslag Corporation. He served as Director of Armscor Global Defense Inc. from 2018 to 2025.

As Chairman of the National Renewable Energy Board from September 2010 to June 2016, he led the implementation of the Renewable Energy Act of 2008, guiding the approval of its key policy and regulatory frameworks. Under his watch, approximately 2,000 MW of renewable energy capacity came online.

Atty. Maniego brings over five decades of leadership across the energy, metals, beverage, semiconductor, IT, munitions, construction, and venture capital sectors. He has served as President and CEO of PNOC Renewables Corporation; Executive Vice President and COO of Asean Fabricators, Inc.; EVP and General Manager of Arms Corporation of the Philippines; Vice President of Bancom Philippine Holdings, Inc. and MESCO Inc.; and Market Development Manager at The Coca-Cola Export Corporation. He has also consulted for the Asian Development Bank, the International Labour Organization, the Climate Change Commission, Philippine National Oil Company, PCF Capital Ventures, ESB Ireland, and various multinational and domestic firms.

In academia, he taught at the University of the Philippines College of Engineering and lectured at the Ateneo School of Government. He served as Chairman (2016–2017) and continues as Adviser (since 2018) of the UP Engineering Research and Development Foundation, Inc. He has completed 14 specialized courses in renewable energy development, climate finance, green banking, and energy transformation at the Renewables Academy AG of Germany, holds certification in the Palladium Kaplan-Norton Balanced Scorecard program, and is a Climate Reality Leader trained under Nobel Laureate Al Gore.

His academic background spans industrial engineering, law, economics, and management. He holds degrees in B.S. in Industrial Engineering and Juris Doctor from the University of the Philippines, and has pursued advanced studies at the Asian Institute of Management, the University of Asia and the Pacific, the Federation of Korean Industries, and Carl Duisberg Gesellschaft in Germany. He received the UP Alumni Engineers Award for Service to Industry in 2011.

Trustee

He is  the current Chairman of the Movement for the Restoration of Peace and Order (MRPO),  a watchdog organization for the suppression of criminality and support for crime victims, particularly kidnap for ransom cases.  He oversees the work of its subcommittees on the PNP Watch, Prosecution Watch and Court Watch.  He also serves as advisor to the Anti-Kidnapping Group of the Philippine National Police to help prevent and solve kidnapping cases.

Trustee

Atty. Eric Puno is widely recognized as a leading authority in Philippine energy law. He earned his AB in Political Science (1985) and Bachelor of Laws (1989) from the Ateneo de Manila University, and later obtained his Master of Laws with honours from Northwestern University School of Law in Chicago, Illinois.

With more than three decades of experience, Puno has built a distinguished career as a strategic adviser to clients across diverse industries, with a strong focus on energy and infrastructure. His commercially minded approach and deep institutional knowledge have enabled him to guide clients in structuring and executing complex transactions.

From 2001 to 2003, Mr. Puno served as Vice President-Legal of First Philippine Holdings Corporation, a diversified conglomerate engaged in power distribution as the managing shareholder of MERALCO, the country's largest electric distribution utility, as well as power generation, manufacturing, and real estate development. During his tenure, he was a key member of the team that handled the US$500 million debt restructuring of the parent corporation and its affiliates, where he led the Philippine law aspects of the transaction.

Building on this experience, Mr. Puno served as Director of Global Business Power, the power investment arm of the Metrobank/Ty Group, from 2004 to 2014. He subsequently served as Director of GT Capital Holdings Inc. from 2011 to 2017, the publicly listed holding company of the Ty family's interests in Metrobank, Federal Land, Toyota, and other affiliated businesses. In addition to these directorships, Mr. Puno assumed several key corporate governance roles within the banking sector. He served as Corporate Secretary of BDO Private Bank from 2004 to 2012, followed by his appointment as Corporate Secretary of BDO Securities, Inc. from 2011 to 2012. Thereafter, from 2012 to 2014, he served as Assistant Corporate Secretary of Metropolitan Bank and Trust Company, further strengthening his expertise in corporate governance and financial institutions.

He played a pivotal role in shaping the Philippine energy sector as part of the Technical Working Group of the House Committee on Energy that drafted the Electric Power Industry Reform Act (EPIRA), the landmark legislation governing the country's power industry. He currently serves as Chairperson of the Energy Lawyers Association of the Philippines (ELAP) and is the Managing Partner of Puno & Puno Law Offices.

Consistently recognized among the country's top lawyers, Puno has been cited by Chambers & Partners, IFLR1000, Asia Pacific Legal 500, Asialaw, and numerous international legal publications. His accolades include recognition as one of Asia Business Law Journal's Top 100 Lawyers in the Philippines since 2021, where he was further honored as one of its 32 legal "Icons." He has also held key legal roles in some of the Philippines' largest conglomerates, underscoring his influence across both private and public sectors.

Trustee

Mr. Tan is the former Chairman and Country Managing Partner of SGV/EY Philippines (2020 - 2025), the largest multidisciplinary professional services firm in the Philippines. Over the course of his career, Wilson also served in various SGV leadership positions, including Vice Chairman and Deputy Managing Partner, Markets Leader, Head of Assurance Services, Market Group Leader, Head of Accounting Standards Group, and Head of Financial & Commodity Risk Services.

Wilson is a recognized authority on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and is currently the Chairman of the Philippine Financial and Sustainability Reporting Standards Council (since March 2022) and was previously the Chairman of the Philippine Interpretations Committee (2014 to Feb 2022).

A Certified Public Accountant, Wilson is an active member of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) and received PICPA’s Outstanding CPA in Public Practice Award in 2009 and Special Achievements in International Professional Involvement in 2012. He is also an active member of the Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines (FINEX) and the Management Association of the Philippines (MAP), having served as President (2023) and Governor (2021-2022 and 2025-2026), respectively. In March 2023, Wilson was named among the 100 notable CPAs by the Professional Regulation Commission’s Board of Accountancy (BOA) in celebration of 100 years of the Accountancy Profession in the Philippines. Wilson was conferred the Centenary Award of Excellence by BOA. In November 2023, he was also conferred the prestigious PICPA Honorary Life Member Award. In June 2025, he was awarded with the Parangal San Mateo award, the most prestigious recognition given to a CPA by the PICPA Foundation.

A graduate of the University of the East (Manila) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, summa cum laude, Wilson placed 12th in the October 1987 CPA licensure examinations and was among the recipients of the 75 Most Outstanding Alumni awards given during the University’s 75th Diamond Jubilee Celebration.

Wilson is an ASEAN Chartered Professional Accountant, recognized by the ASEAN Chartered Professional Accountants Coordinating Committee under the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Accountancy Services. He obtained his Master of Business Administration from the International Institute for Management Development in Lausanne, Switzerland. He also attended the Pacific Rim Bankers Program – Foster School of Business, University of Washington in Seattle, Washington, U.S.A. He also participated in the EY Strategic Leadership for Partners Program in Boston, U.S.A.
